It's that time of year again. I can't believe fall is here.
Picking apples goes so quickly. Amazingly fast. Bumper crop - Gala, Ambrosia and Honey Crisp.
It seemed like mere minutes and then we had more apples than we knew what we would do with.
Surprised to find, a week later. I'm wishing we had picked a few more. We are down to one bag. The sweet shiny fruit so good we just can't walk by without grabbing one. I haven't even gotten them out on the kitchen table in a pretty little bowl. Nope, still in these very bags sitting on the counter in the laundry room. We are finding them anyway.
So my intentions of baking apples into cakes and crisps is not likely to happen. Not with this batch anyway. These will be gone long before I find time or a reason to bake something sweet.
Pumpkins are ready too - I'm not ready for one of these just yet - just considering.
Today's post is just a short reminder of where our food comes from. Water + Sun + Dirt , and some healthy trees = sweet, sweet apples.
Welcome Autumn
