Add this BBQ seasoning mix to your weekly prep this weekend. One thing I learned from watching too much Food Network TV in the 90's was that a good seasoning mix can be used on just about anything. This is mine. And since you won't be BBQ'ing around here this weekend, you might as well get ready for when you can.
Mother Nature decided to play one last April Fool's joke on us and doused with a wet and slushy snow fall. I'll remind you it is April. We actually got the deck furniture out last weekend. We were sitting outside on the deck... staring at the pool cover... but there was sun! It was warm.
This weekend...
...oh the fern. We've sheltered all winter. Almost like the snow was waiting for us to put you outside.. ????
(Zoe finally showed me how to type with ???? ???? ???? no more lame-o : ) smiley faces !! ????????
I promise not to overuse them.)
Back to the BBQ spice
This stuff works on everything! I love it sprinkled on oven-roasted chickpeas or sweet potatoes, sautéed mushrooms or greens.
The meat eaters in the family swear this is a must for BBQ chicken or salmon. Zoe uses it to makes her roasted new potatoes better than everyone else's. I've sprinkled this on eggs and added it my soups and stews too. It is just the stuff to boost flavours without opening a bunch of jars in the spice cupboard. I keep this close to the stove in a half pint mason jar so I can grab it and sprinkle all.the.time. We are talkin' serious kitchen efficiencies - with only about 5 minutes of time invested up front. That is time well spent, my friends.
